The Western Public House

II

Public house on street corner. Mid-late C19. Stucco; Dry slate
roof hipped at the front end behind stuccoed parapet with
moulded entablature with heavy cornice; brick end stack on
left and stack over apex of hip; many old pots. Deep
rectangular plan with canted entrance bay on the street
corner.
3 storeys; left-hand return and street front are 3:1:2 bays.
Plinth, channelled rustication and voussoirs to ground floor,
rusticated end and Tuscan end pilasters and giant pilasters
above plus giant window architraves. Original 4-pane hornless
sashes to 1st floor, horned copies above. Ground floor also
has horned sashes; tripartite windows to left-hand return and
central doorway with remains of pediment; also doorway to
splayed corner and to centre of street front; panelled doors
and plain glazed overlights.
