Farmhouse and adjoining stables. Early and mid C18, and mid C19.
Brick and timber framing with pantile roofs. Rubble plinths,
brick nogging, matchboard cladding, cogged eaves, coped gables.
2 gable and 2 ridge stacks. Single and 2 storeys, 6 plus 5 bays.
Single range. Windows are C19 and C20 casements. House has to
left, lower 2 storey addition, and to right, 2 storey porch, mid
C19, with hipped plain tile roof. To left, 2 casements. Porch
has a casement, flanked by single casements with segmental heads.
Beyond, to right, a casement. Porch has a door in each return
angle. Above, 5 casements. Rear elevation has flat roofed
dentillated porch, mid C19, flanked to left by 2 and to right by
single casements. To right again, single storey dairy, mid C19,
has single casement with segmental head to rear and in return
angle. Interior has 2 chamfered span beams, one with stops, and
2 fireplace bressumers, one with stops. Softwood winder stair
with rectangular newel and flat balusters. 2 C18 beaded plank
doors. Stables, to left, have single bay brick addition at each
end. 4 bays of timber framing with intermediate rail. Front has
to left, 2 doors. To right, small casement flanked by single
doors, one with overlight. Above, 4 casements. Rear has 3 bays
of timber framing and to right, 2 C20 plank garage doors.
Interior has 2 pairs of jowled bay posts with cambered tie beams
and braces. Single bay post with tie beam. 2 braces to front
wall plate. Single panel of mud and stud. 2 pairs of upright
struts to late C19 purlin roof.
