Detached cottage. C17 extended C18. Local lias stone cut and squared; asbestos cement slate roof, diamond pattern with
plain overhung gables; brick end and intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays, of which bay 3 is later, being
straight jointed with remainder. Ovolo mould mullioned windows bays 1 and 2, stone 4-light with labels below and timber
3-light above, all rectangular leaded with iron framed opening lights; bay 3 has simpler casements with rectangular
leaded panes and iron framed opening lights, the lower 3-light under timber lintol, the upper 2-light. In extension,
between bays 2 and 3, a 6-flush panel door with glazed toplights set in reeded frame, protected by timber lattice porch
with pitched sheet metal roof, up 3 steps. Through passage plan: south gable has deep fireplace under chamfered timber
beam, with oven, inglenook, etc; deep chamfered ceiling beams with plain runouts; original south door - for gable ends
- still in situ, on ovolo mould frame, with traces of circular stair in middle room which has 4-panel deep chamfered
beamed ceiling and matching fireplace: north wall of this room a plank and muntin partition with C18 6-panel door set
in: cross beam to north room has rounded stop and runout chamfered bean; in east wall of this room a Cl8 cupboard in
former window opening: other features include C17 wall safe with reeded, panelled door, internal ferramenta to windows:
rear wall has C17 door and traces of former rear window. First floor not seen.
