Inn, C17 timber-framed and painted brick, partly cased and extended
in painted brick in C19. Hipped slate roof with ridge stack.
Two-storey, 4-window range with 4 upper casement pairs, ground
floor door to left, within flat-roofed forward extension and two
pairs of twelve-pane sashes flanking principal door in gabled brick
porch. Left two bays of front are brick, right two have exposed
square framing with angle braces under first floor sill level.
Single storey late C19 or C20 extensions to left. Exposed framing
on north end wall. Red brick rear wall, continuous ground floor
lean-to.
Interior: lobby-entry plan with chamfered and scroll-stopped spine
beam in room to left and another similar in left end room,
suggesting that painted brick is recasing rather than C19. Said
to have original roof beams and a framed internal gable.
