Probably C14 origin and formerly a property of the Eyre family. Late C18 refronting
3 storeys colourwashed brick with brick and stone cornice, the bricks projecting
in pairs as brackets. Stucco parapet with stone coping. Old tile roof. 2
windows to upper floors, recessed sashes, no glazing bars. On ground floor
modern shop front replacing early C19 shop, and house door. 4 panels with altered
rectangular fanlight. To left hand a yard entry
giving access to No 29) with plain wrought iron gates and dog rails. In passage
to yard the party wall with Nos 28-28A qv has wall posts and arched bracing.
Back ofhouse is timber framed with brick infilling on stone base with tile
hung gables and large chimney stack. Irregular windows, casements and sashes.
Part of original roof structure with collar and purlin is visible.
Nos 25 to 32 (consec) and the Market Hall form a group.
