Farmhouse. Late C18 with early-mid C19 alterations. Red and yellow brick
with front in contrasting Flemish bond; right return rendered. Pantile
roof. Double pile plan with central entrance hall front. 2 storeys with
attic, 3 irregular bays. Entrance to right of centre: doorcase with
architrave, pulvinated frieze and carved consoles supporting a moulded
pediment; part-glazed C20 door beneath Gothick radial fanlight in architrave
and plain reveal. One pane in fanlight is inscribed "John Bealby August 4
1794". One late C19 - early C20 3-light casement to right under keyed
stucco cambered arch; one 4-pane sash in flush wood surround to left under
keyed stucco flat arch. Similar sashes to first floor under keyed stucco
cambered arches, with narrower window over entrance. Dentilled brick eaves
cornice. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. End stacks. Pointed-
arch attic sash with glazing bars to left gable. Interior: entrance hall
has open well staircase with ramped and wreathed handrail and column-on-vase
balusters with square knops, moulded ceiling rose and cornice; moulded
cornices to ground floor right front and rear rooms; fielded-panel doors and
architraves.
