Flood gate operatives cottage. 1801 for Samuel Oldknow.
Dressed stone with slate roof. 2 x 1 bays with 2 storeys
and canted corners. Projecting plinth. 2 windows on each
floor of sidewalls, 1 on each floor of endwalls and a door
with window above in each canted wall. The 4-panel doors
have square-cut stone surrounds, as do the windows which are
sashes (exept for 3 which have been replaced by cross
casements). Pyramidal roof with one large ridge chimney
stack.
