GV II

Former coach-house. probably early C19 altered. Rubblestone with red-brick dressings
and some blue headers. Partially roofed in corrugated iron, but roof mostly
collapsed. One storey, formerly with loft, with 2nd storey at centre. 5-bay
symmetrical elevation, arranged 2 :1 : 2. Brick-quoined angles and surrounds
to openings. (Central carriage entrance has round-cornered flat brick arcn with
ashlar imposts and keystone and C20 sliding door; keyed oculus above and stepped
gable with coping stones; segmental-arched windows flank centre with doorways beyond,
all having keystones and in left doorway the remains of a board stable door. Rear:
former opening to right bay, the walling of this section collapsed. Returns:
eacn nas an inserted ground floor opening and an original, keyed, segmental-arched
loading hatch to gable. Interior: cobblestone floors. Upper floor of central
bay lined with bird nesting holes. In state of dereliction at time of inspection.
