Cartshed with granary over. Probably early C19. Red brick in regular English
bond, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Roadside elevation: blocked opening at
right end; inserted 6-pane window at left end with C20 buttress to its left; 3
slatted openings to 1st floor (left one covered by ivy); ends of iron tie-bars;
stepped dentilled eaves; raised verges with moulded kneelers and ashlar coping.
Rear: 5 open, timber-bays divided by brick piers with stone imposts, the
right-hand bay bricked up and with stable door; 3 slatted openings to 1st floor;
eaves and gables as roadside elevation. Left return: blocked door with header-
brick segmental arch on right; on left, stair with stone steps (lower steps now
concrete) up to board granary door. Interior: granary has plastered walls and
trap-door in floor (to cartshed below); collared principal rafter roof trusses,
purlins reducing in thickness above cellars, with arch braces, chamfered butt
purlins and narrow ridge-piece. Disused at time of inspection. Attached farm
buildings not of special interest.
