Farmhouse. C17. Cruck-framed with square-panel wall frames,
thatch roof and brick stacks. 3-unit plan with hearth-
passage and 1 storey (plus attic). The front retains a stone
plinth and the majority of its timber members. Oak batten
door obscured by later porch and 2 2-light casement windows.
3 ridge chimney stacks. The rear has 3 2-light windows one
of which is a fire window and a gabled dormer window. The
left gable reveals a full cruck frame with tie beam, cruck
spur and a collar post carrying the ridge purlin. Inside a
similar cruck frame exists between units 1 and 2. Large
inglenook fireplace with cambered bressummer supported on a
chamfered spere post with stepped stops. Chamfered beams
remain throughout and the internal walls are of framed
construction.
