1.5.52 Chapel Farmhouse
II
House, including former chapel now used for storage. C18. Coursed squared sandstone
with herring-bone tooling, brick on rubblestone and brick plinth to rear. Renewed
pantile roof with ashlar coping and shaped kneelers. Rebuilt brick end and central
stacks. East front divided as for 2 dwellings, each part 2 storeys, 3 bays. Plinth
of one course. Quoins. Central 6-panel door under oblong fanlight with glazing bars
to each part, that to left in C20 tiled porch. C19 and C20 sashes with glazing bars
under splayed flat stone arches with keystones and stone cills. First floor band.
Single storey brick extension to right has pantile roof with ashlar coping and shaped
kneeler to right gable, end stack, and 16-pane sash window. Rear elevation: quoins.
Sliding sashes to house, 3 tall sashes with glazing bars and gauged brick heads to
former chapel.
