Farmhouse and mill. Early C18 with late C18 addition. Thinly-rendered
sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins; Welsh slate roof with brick
chimneys. 2 builds: south elevation has 2-storey, 2-bay right house and mill;
one-storey, 2-bay left addition on higher ground continuous with first floor of
right part.
First build has steps down to near-central boarded door under flat stone lintel;
irregular fenestration of varied sizes, with late C19 sash on ground floor, and
16-pane sash above at left; small 4-pane light above door, and wide 2-pane
light at right on first floor, with flat stone lintels. Roof has C20 skylights
and 3 ridge chimneys. Right return has small square lights to mill, and pit
for overshot mill wheel. Pigsty/henhouse; attached and set back at right over
mill race, has rear walled enclosures and single hen-hole. Second build at
left has steps up to boarded door, and 16-pane sash at left, with flat stone
lintels.
Interior: stop-chamfered stone surround to internal door to mill, now enclosed
in rear extension. Complete mill machinery, the upper wheels of wood, the
lower of cast iron with wood cogs; 2 sets of mill-stones.
Circa 80 cm-wide stone wall, breaking forward at right and extending the length
of the garden, formerly held aqueduct for mill.
