Lodge to Beamish Hall (q.v.). Circa 1860. Coursed squared sandstone with
ashlar quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and
fishscale decoration. Tudor style. L-plan. One storey, 3 bays. Steeply-
gabled central open porch has large flat lintel; moulded kneelers support gable
coping with bud finials; door with 2 rows of vertical panels in jambs with
large top blocks and elliptical-headed lintel. Flanking stone-mullioned
chamfered lattice casements have label moulds. Steeply-pitched roof has moulded
kneelers supporting shaped copings with end corniced ashlar chimneys.
C20 left extension not of interest.
