8/87 Pair of gate piers at east

Pair of gate piers, with short flanking walls splayed outwards towards the road.
Probably early C19. Granite; the gate piers and the piers terminating the flanking
walls are of ashlar, while the walls themselves are of rubble. Gate piers are tall
and square section, the masonry rusticated with shaped caps surmounted by small
finials. Flanking walls have dressed copings slightly rounded on top; they
terminate in short square section piers with shaped tops.
Ingsdon School, which is burnt out, is not listed.
