2. Circa 1793 by James Johnson; officers quarters, greatly extended by C B Ewart to
include officers' mess in 1876. Earlier E plan building remains in centre, but refronted
to south. North side of circa 1793 block of 2 storeys, 9 bays multi-coloured stock brick
4 bay west wing with cast-iron columned verandah to ground storey of west side. Single
bay central wing, east wing replaced. South front is 1876 with 3 storey central 15 bays
with 4: 7: 3 2 storey wings. Central 5 bays gabled central porch with foliage capitals
to columns. 4 and 3 bay units of side wings set forward and gabled. Yellow stock brick
with white bands and segmental and arched window heads. Eaves-breaking gabled 2nd floor
dormers to central block flanking bays. Slated roofs and prominent chimney stacks.
