Wooden Cottage

Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861 made by Henry Grissell. Metal, circa 4 foot
high. Four legged plinth with chamfered pier above. Moulded capital band and
pyramidal top. City of London shield on front. Lettering on pier reads
"24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42" makers name on the rear. Coal and Wine tax post indicating
the boundary at which duty was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
