Tower or Folly. c 1799. Red brick faced ashlar with ashlar dressings.
2 storey. Square plan. Gothic style. Raised on a basement plinth
approached up 5 steps with iron railings. Each face has a large
pointed arched opening. Above a single 4-centred arched window
opening to each face, with an iron railing across, with a hood mould
and flanking blank shields. Above an ashlar band with battlements.
This tower was built for Robert Elam, to employ the local men who were
out of work.
