House. C16 refaced in C18 and extended to rear in c1720. Old house timber framed
clad in galleted sandstone rubble with brick dressings and tile hung above under
half-hipped plain tiled roof. Extensions to rear of red brick with stone coped
parapet obscuring hipped, plain tiled roof. Entrance front:- Two storeys with off-
set end stack to right and rear stacks to centre and left of centre. Four casement
windows to first floor and two windows below, including one 3-light,diamond pane
"cross" window. Pentice extensions to ends, that to left half tile hung with brick
dentil band and further window. Door to left. Main door to right of centre under
transome light. Blocked door to centre/left under camber arch and brick dentils
with "An visible. Right hand return front:- two blocked windows on each floor
under gauged heads and arched window to left between floors. Rear:- Early Ct8
entrance front - five bays-wide and two storeys high. Original 12-pane glazing
bar sash windows. Plat bands over ground floor and to base of parapet over first
floor,gauged brick heads to windows. Double casement doors to ground floor. Central
half-glazed panelled door under transome light in pilaster strip and pedimented
surround with dentil decoration and scroll brackets.
Interior:- Framing exposed in walls and ceilings on old range. Fine C18 staircase
to rear range with carved tread ends.
