House. Early C16, floor and stack inserted, re-roofed and extended c.1600,
part reroofed late C17, altered C20. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof.
2 large bays were probably an open hall, no traces of original storeyed bays;
stack inserted in centre of hall, parlour added to left. 1 storey and attic.
Scattered 1, 2 and 3-light C20 glazing bar casements, an entrance to right or
service end, a blocked entrance at original left end, 3 dormers with raking
thatch. Axial ridge stack to right of centre, breaks in ridge at original
left end and to right where roof is rebuilt. Right end clay lump lean-to
outshut. Interior: reverse cranked and reverse curved arched braces in
walling of early bays, inserted cross axial binding beams, close studding in
parlour; open truss entirely removed, edge halved scarf joints in wall plates,
collars and halved principals clasp purlins with arched windbraces, later
clasped purlin roofs at both ends.
