Two attached houses, now one. Circa 1840. Stucco. Slate pitched roofs (to eaves
to left and to parapet to right). 2 storeys; lower left hand part 3 windows
wide. Taller right hand part of 2 windows wide. Entrance to central bay in
large porch c.1860 of brick with rusticated brick quoins and gauged arched head,
with glass canopy to elaborate pedimented entrance gate. Architraves to windows.
square headed to left hand part with cornices to ground floor; segmental to
ground floor of right hand part. Sashes and casements, some glazing bars, C19
stained glass to ground floor of left part, which also has LCC plaque to Thomas
Henry Huxley 1825-1895, botanist, who lived here.
