C17 and later. A window pane dated 1744. Stone walls of graded blocks, flagged
roof with balls on eaves, 2 storeys. A 2-storeyed centre gabled porch with balls
a round-arched entrance with imposts, inner side seats and inner panelled door,
With a 12-paned sash window above in moulded frame with dripstone. To right
of porch are a 5-light window on ground floor with label, and a blocked 4-light
window above. To left of porch are 2 windows on each floor (a larger 4-light
and modern 2 light on ground floor, and 2 2-lights above). All windows with
stone mullions. Gable end to right has 2 sash windows on each floor. Wing at
rear of old hand-made brick, with sash windows and a projecting brick chimney.
Immediately in front of house in small front garden is an C18 fountain (called
the Spewing Laddie) consisting of a square stone column topped by small naked
boy blowing the water jet up, a circular stone basin with urns, and 2 standing
stone statues of Orpheus with a lyre and Eurydice in chains.
