Country House. 1923/24 with later extension, by Sir Guy Dawber for Mr. McCreery. Local stone coursed rubble, ashlar dressings; hipped plain clay tile roof; tapered rubble chimney stacks with ashlar copings. Arts and Crafts style. 2 storeys, 'H'-plan; random fenestration to North front. Small pane casement windows with rubble quoins; bracketted eaves; central 2-storey porch of slight projection with flat roof behind stepped coping, with pair flush oak doors in architrave with flat stone hood on corbel brackets, above a full-length window in stylised ashlar surround, with wrought iron balcony. Rear elevation, South, of 2+2+2 bays with central French doors in architraved surround with segmental pediment; to East end a projecting flat roofed open loggia, then a masking wing wall. Other elevations in similar character. Interior very carefully detailed with very few alterations to the original design. Garden fully landscaped in the style of the day. (Date plaque on West elevation; also information from Mr. R. McCreery, owner 1984; R R Phillips, Country Life, 22 January 1927).
