c.1700. A good example of the period. 2 storeys and attics, rubble with ashlar
quoins; hipped Cotswold stone roof; end chimneys with moulded capping; 2 hipped
dormers. Strings above each floor. 3-windows, 3-2-3 light on 1st floor, 4 light
on ground floor. Central doorcase with string stepped up; elliptical head with
imposts at string level. C19 door and overlight. Good contemporary staircase,
fireplace and simple oak panelling, 1-storey extension to right with ashlar
chimney and two 3-light mullion windows. To rear: back door has basket arch with
imposts; lean-to with rectangular stone piers. Good interior: open well staircase
in centre of house (lower flight repositioned): heavy barley-sugar balusters, wide
handrail and one wide string; plank and muntin 1st floor partition with a bolec-
tion doorcase; 1st floor room to north has good bolection fireplace in stone.
