Cottage. Early C19, added to and altered. Rendered and painted brick, rear
outshut timber-framed with brick infill; thatched roof; brick stacks. One
storey and attic; a single cell with rear outshut, side outshut addition on
right, wash-kitchen addition on left; and C1970 conservatory across front,
not of special interest. Windows are mostly C20 wood or metal casements.
Inside conservatory, cottage has mid-C20 glazed door on right with fire-insurance
plaque over and 2-light window to left. Timber eaves plate. 2-light attic
window under eyebrow dormer. Roof hipped with external stack at left end,
the lower part rendered. Outshut on right, under catslide roof, has a 2-
light window and tall external stack at right end. Wash-house addition on
left has door, 2-light window, corrugated-iron roof, and external stack at
left end. Rear; outshut, under catslide roof, has windows of 3 lights and
1 light; small-pane window to wash-house; small C20 outshut addition filling
left angle (between side and rear outshuts), with corrugated-iron roof. Interior:
ground-floor room has large fireplace (now infilled) with bread-oven; wide
floorboards; chamfered cross-beam with run-out stops and similarly-treated
joists. Roof has old rafters.
