Farmhouse, now a house. 1710. Refenestrated c.1870. For Philip
Lacock. Brick with plain tile roof. First and second floor and
gable bands. Shouldered coped gables. Single gable and ridge
stacks. 3 storeys, 2 bays. L-plan. Windows are mainly
mullioned glazing bar casements. South front has central mid C19
gabled porch with round headed opening and half-glazed door with
fanlight. Flanked by single casements. Above, central datestone
inscribed 'Philip Lacock Esquire 1710'. Above again, 2 gables,
each with a casement. East side has C20 door and to its right, 2
casements. Above, 3 casements irregularly spaced. Above again,
to left, casement to garret. West side has C19 and C20 lean-to
additions in return angle, with door and 3 C20 windows. To
right, gabled cartshed, single bay, with a pair of doors with
segmental heads. Above, a Yorkshire sash and above again, a
casement to garret. Rear has casement and to right, C20 addition,
single storey. Above, 2 casements on each floor. Interior has
early C18 dogleg stair with intersecting string and handrail,
square newels and vase balusters, Common rafter roof, mainly re-
used timber. Cambered fireplace bressumer, chamfered span beams
with elementary stops.
