listed as Ye Olde House
GV II and Stable)

House. Dated 1647 on tablet below chimney in right gable end; refronted early
C19; raised C20. Right gable end is of coursed ironstone and limestone rubble
with large limestone quoins and gable verge; front refaced in ironstone ashlar
with flush bands of brown Uppingham stone; rear is of rubble stone; raised in C20
concrete blocks with concrete gable copings and roof of C20 interlocking concrete
tiles. Red brick chimney to right, white brick chimney near left end. 2
storeys, 2 1/2 bays. Front has chamfered plinth and C20 3-light barred wooden
casements. Similar single light to centre of ground floor, the lower windows
with stone lintel band and keyblocks. To left is a small C20 wooden window and a
C20 door in a moulded C17 stone surround with 4-centred arch and casement
cornice, the frieze inscribed "Ye Olde House". Single storey C19 ashlar
extension to left with corrugated iron roof, C20 door and blocked single light
with keyblock. Interior not seen.
