Row of houses. Mid C19. Stucco; slate mansard roofs. Four storeys plus
basement and mansard attics. Each house three windows wide. Channelling to
ground floor. Projecting Doric porches. Windows square headed except to third
floor where segmental. First floor windows grouped together beneath entablature
and flanked by Corinthian half columns. Continuous cast iron balcony to first
floor, second floor windows corniced, the centre one to each house pedimented and
windows balustraded. Sashes. Plate glass. Dentil cornice, simplified to Nos 45
and 47. Cast iron area railings of neo-Grec design. Part of coherent scheme
with Nos 23-42 consec and 48-65 Rutland Gate (qv).
