Dated ? 1861. Small building of coursed stone with pyramidical tiled roof.
Buttresses at west angles. Four-centred stone archway on the West side and smaller
pointed archways on the North and South sides, all having iron gates of arrow-
head pattern. Wheel and pump inside the building. On the Wellhouse is a notice:-
'Notice is hereby given that the well is to be closed at 7 O'Clock in the evening
and opened at 6 O'Clock in the morning and to be closed all day on the Sabbath.
By order of the Mayor'. On the east the building backs up against a wall of
red brick and stone rubble.
