House. 1840-50 for the Duke of Northumberland. Ashlar with plinth, Welsh
slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. 12-pane sashes with chamfered reveals and
projecting sills. Projecting eaves on paired stone brackets. Hipped roof with
3 corniced ridge stacks of 2 conjoined shafts.
3-bay returns. Central stone porch on right return has door of 6 flush panels;
crescent moon in frieze, for the Duke of Northumberland. Similar 12-pane sashes
elsewhere.
Lower 2-storey, 2-bay service wing to rear with gabled roof and end stack.
L-plan, single-storey outbuildings attached to rear have 2 boarded doors in
chamfered surrounds. Projecting higher carriage house now garage, with segmental-
arched double doors and hipped roof.
Interior: Staircase with stick balusters; 6-panel doors and internal shutters.
