Congregational Chapel,now United Reformed Church, Opened 1836 by J Adams of Gosport;
renovated lateCl9. Yellow brick in Flemish bond with stone dressings; returns rendered
and scored as ashlar; rear of red brick in stretcher bond. Corrugated iron roof. 3 x 7
bays, gable-end to road. In Gothic style having 4-centred arched openings, the windows
with stone tracery forming 4-centred arched lights and honeycomb iron glazing bars.
North (entrance) elevation; champered plinth; Offset diagonal butresses, those flanking
the taller, projecting, central bay gableted and with juxtaposed gableted finials behind
parapet. Openings have 2 chamfered orders. Central double door with arched panelling below
hoodmould with decorative stops and string; 3-light window above with perpendicular style
tracery and hoodmould; oculus containing cinquefoil to gable. Narrower transomed 2-light
windows to outer bays. String below coped parapet. Returns : bays divided by offset
butresses, each with a transomed 2-light window. Interior not inspected.

1835. Gothick style. White brick 3 bay facade with pedimented gable end to street,
eaves cornice and coped parapet. Buttresses. 1 centre traceried window with band
below and side window with transom. All with decorative glazing bars. Centre door
with dripstone mould above.
