Farmhouse. C17 with C18 alterations. Coursed rubble with boulder plinth and
ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with overlapping stone gable copings at-left;
brick chimneys, some on rendered stacks. Cross-passage plan with rear stair
wing. East elevation to garden 2 storeys, 5 bays. Half-glazed central door in
square-headed surround which has moulded quirk-stopped chamfer. Label moulds
over door, ground-floor windows and 3 right first-floor windows, all in single-
chamfered surrounds. Fire window to left of door. Mullions removed from
ground-floor windows, formerly of 2 or 3 lights and from first-floor right end
window. Third and fourth first-floor windows have mullions and vertical iron
bars of diagonal section. 2 left first-floor windows have late C19 and 16-pane
sashes respectively.
Interior: round-headed doorway and plank door on left of-passage towards rear.
Other doors mostly have 2 raised and fielded panels in very deep panelled
reveals; pegged panelled and moulded cellar door. Chamfered beams and joists
with run-out and stepped stops. Early C18 cupboard in left room has panelled
doors along length of room under dresser with glazed doors having horizontal
flat glazing bar in fret-cut scroll pattern; corner flat baluster supports
shelf. Late C17/early C18 dog-leg close-string stair has ramped, moulded
handrail on turned balusters (first flight balusters removed); very shallow
risers; L-plan landing balustrade.
Adjacent right byre too much altered to be of interest.
