House. C17 or early C18, remodelled early C19. Extended, porch added, and
altered c.1927 by Mauchlen and Elphick. Ashlar facade, random rubble elsewhere.
Pantiled roofs and brick chimneys. Double span with cross wing on right return.
Facade; 2 storeys. Long range to left in early C19 ashlar with older plinth.
5 and 1 bays. 5-bay section has doorway of 1927 with steps and boldly wreathed
railings leading to porch with pilasters and hipped pantiled roof. Above, a
square window of 1927 with trellis glazing bars. 2 bays to each side have
12-pane sashes. Right of this one bay with large early C20 tripartite window
on ground floor and 12-pane sash above.
Projecting cross wing on right is of 1927. Three 12-pane sashes on each floor,
1st floor sill string. Single-storey lean-to and external stack in re-entrant
angle.
Wood cornice of 1927. Cross wing has hipped roof; gabled roofs elsewhere.
Rear span has much steeper pitch with old kneelers. Many tall corniced stacks
of 1927.
On left return early C19 Gothick window with intersecting glazing bars.
Interior has possibly re-set C17 or early C18 staircase with fat turned
balusters and closed string. Many 2-panel doors, panelled shutters and reveals.
Several minor early C18 fireplaces with architraves or bolection-moulded
surrounds. Entrance hall of 1927 with 2 pairs of fluted square columns.
