Farmhouse, bakehouse/washhouse and carriagehouse. Circa 1835.
Stone rubble with dressed stone window heads and cills.
Low-pitched hipped slate roof with lead roll hips and ridge
and deep eaves. Two symmetrically arranged brick stacks.
PLAN: Double-depth plan with 4 rooms on the ground floor and a
central stair hall. Attached to the rear left [NE] corner a
wing containing the bakehouse/washhouse with servants' rooms
above and on the rear right [SE] corner a detached
carriagehouse with a loft above.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay west front with large
16-pane sashes with ashlar heads with keystones and cills.
Stone steps up to central doorway, its doorcase with panelled
reveals, cantilevered canopy, rectangular overlight with
margin glazing bars and a panelled door. Similar rear [east]
elevation but with plain flat window arches. At the rear
flanking left and right two large rectangular 2-storey service
blocks with pyramidal slate roofs with deep eaves and various
small windows; on the right the bakehouse/washhouse and on the
left the carriagehouse.
INTERIOR: Most of the interior joinery is said to be intact
including the chimneypieces and staircase.
