House, initialled and dated "ISH 167?", with mid C19 attached barn. Thin
coursed rubble, ashlar quoins, hammer dressed stone to barn, stone slate roof.
Through passage with 2-storey porch to south front with gabled cross-wing to
east and single cell to west. It is possible that the barn attached to this
single-cell may be replacing a 3rd room. Barn has quoins, segmental arched cart
entry with arch headed window over. Irregular break in stonework at junction
with house. 7-light chamfered mullioned window with 4-light window over to 1st
floor. Porch, under cat-slide roof with main range, has doorway with depressed
Tudor arched lintel bearing inscription set within a tressure, and composite
jambs with stop chamfered cyma moulded surround. 2-light window over to 1st
floor. Cyma moulded string course continues over ground floor windows of east
wing which has double chamfered mullioned windows; 2-light fire-window to left
of 6-light window with king mullion with 5-light window over to 1st floor.
Return walls blind. Rear of wing has quoins and chamfered mullioned windows of
2 and 3 lights with 5-light double chamfered mullioned window over to 1st floor.
Right hand return wall of wing has arch headed light with sunken spandrels.
Through-passage doorway has low Tudor arched lintel with simple chamfered
surround. Chamfered mullioned windows; 2-light to ground floor with 2 of 4
lights to 1st floor. Barn has doorway with tie-stone jambs.
