37/6 The Glebe House

Originally the Rectory. Large house of irregular plan. The old parts are the
west half which forms a double L. This is a C17 or earlier timber-framed building,
refaced in the C18 with red brick and grey headers on ground floor and tile-hung
above. Tiled roof. Sash windows with Gothic panes, inserted about 1820. The
western arm is a pentagonal bay on both floors. Early C19 addition of one window
in red brick and grey headers to the north with gable over having scalloped barge-
boards. Two storeys. Four windows. A large addition in red brick was made to
the west in 1864.
