House, formerly the rectory. Late C18, with substantial alterations and
additions of 1964-66 by Raymond Erith. Red brick, plaintiled roof. 2 storeys
and attic. East facade with 5 window range, 2:1:2, sashes with glazing bars in
flush and cased frames, flat brick arches; central doorway with pilasters,
broken pediment, 6-panel door with raised and fielded panels, semi-circular
fanlight with decorative glazing bars. Brick band at first floor level, broad
wooden eaves cornice added in 1960's; 3 flat-roofed dormers, hipped roof.
South (garden) front re-modelled 1960's: existing 2 storey 3-light semi-circular
bay of old house matched by a new bay, forming symmetrical facade; central
doorway with new semi-circular portico, paired glazed doors; brickwork stepped
out at first and second floor levels, parapet with stone coping. Additions of
1964-66 to west and north in matching style, including garage court with
pedimented entrance and square clock tower to roof.
