Flint and stone church of saxo-norman origin. The north aisle is dated 1225
and the south aisle 1250. The west tower, with a castellated parapet is early
C14. The north and south porches are early C15, with vaulted roofs which
were never completed. The south doorway is circa 1200 and the north doorway
circa 1225 with a fine C15 door with moulded battens and a carving of 2 pairs
of shears. There has been a good deal of Cl9 restoration. The chancel was
rebuilt in 1870-75 by Edward Barr. The internal fittings include a fine early
C16 carved wooden font case to the C13 font. Graded for its architectural
and historical value. (RCHM 2).
