House and adjoining disused watermill. House probably early C17 timber framed
core with early C19 red brick casing: pantiled roof; 2 storeys and attic: 3
window range, 2-light and 3-light small pane casements, segmental arches;
asymmetrical doorway with 6-panel door and rectangular fanlight set within
gabled brick porch; one internal stack. Watermill mid-late C18; timber framed
and weatherboarded, gambrel roof clad in corrugated iron early C20; 2 storeys
and attic; machinery intact: fine internal breast-shot waterwheel of composite
(wood and iron) construction with 6 pairs of wooden arms, oak wheelshaft,
composite pitwheel, iron wallower, wooden spurwheel and crownwheel, one wooden
and 2 iron stone nuts, 3 pairs of underdriven millstones, external pulley for
engine drive.
