House, early C19. 2 storeys and attics, 2 windows. Timber-framed and rendered
with herringbone pargetting in panels. Hipped plaintiled roof with leaded
segmental-headed dormer and axial chimney of red brick. C19 small-pane sash
windows. 6-panel entrance door with moulded architrave and pentice. The house
incorporates the parlour cell of a late C17 or early C18 house, the remainder
of which is now known as no. 3, Hawstead Lane; plaintiled roof with C20
plaintiled casement dormer and plaintiled small-pane C19 bay window, formerly
the window of a baker's shop.
