of Bolesworth Castle under Chorley

Pair of gate piers 1829, by William Cole for George Walmesley. Red
sandstone Gothick piers with a recessed trefoil above an arched
sinking flanked by blank arrow-slits to each face and capped with
stone balls above projecting friezes with cyma cornices.
