Farmhouse, probably late C17, altered; extended C18 and with wing
added to give double depth early C19. Brick with roofs of grey slate
and, on rear wing, asbestos. Early Cl9 Flemish bond front wing of 2
storeys and 4 windows; rear wing with parallel roof. C17 with C18
extension under continuing roof, left. Front has door of 4 fielded
panels with radial-bar fanlight in round-arched opening and replaced
windows in unaltered openings. Wedge lintels; stone cills; band at
1st floor. Rear wing has no externally visible features of special
interest. Each wing has 1 gable chimney and 1 ridge chimney. Rear
wing was formerly thatched.
Interior: Kitchen in front wing, left, has sawn beams and exposed
joists. Rear wing has oak beams, altered inglenook with oak
bressumer, damaged dogleg stair of oak in 4 flights to upper storey
and attic, with vase splat balusters and square newels. 2 corner
fireplaces, to former adjoining rooms of upper storey, on central
chimney; internal partitions upstairs have been removed.
