Terraced town house. 1760s (with some early to mid C19 alterations),Portland
Estate development. Red brick with rusticated stucco ground floor. 4 storeys
(including stock brick attic storey), on basement. 4 windows wide. Semicircular
arched doorway in 2nd bay from left with vermiculated rustications carried in
to concave reveals, panelled door and radial fanlight with inset lantern;
delicate cast iron early to mid C19 trellis spandrel porch on slender cast iron
columns. Recessed ground floor sashes with vermiculated keystones; recessed
French windows to 1st floor, sashes to 2nd floor and casements to attic, all
under flat gauged arches and with stuccoed reveals. Plat band finishing off
ground floor stuccowork, painted stone moulded cornice over 2nd floor; parapet
with coping. Early to mid C19 loop patterned cast iron balcony,on console
brackets carried forward over porch, across 1st floor and geometric patterned
cast iron balconettes to 2nd floor. Foliated pommel finialed area railings.
Cornet rainwater head to right. Interior retains some good 1760s plasterwork as
well as early C19 mouldings, stone geometrical staircase with wrought iron
balustrade, marble chimneypieces; etc.
