west of Newbiggin
Hall

Combined hen-house and pigsty with attached earth-closet, dated 1796 in Hall
accounts. Coursed, squared rubble with quoins. Graduated slate roof. Earth
closet door set back to left; hen-house door is flanked by single small openings
with ledges 3 ft above ground. 3 other doors to store/pigsties. Internally,
original stone nesting boxes have been retained in hen-house. All doors are
plank with segmental heads.
