Grave slab. c1708. Ashlar. Memorial to "James Thompson of Bolton" who died
17th December 1708 aged 57. Finely-carved decorative surround with arched head,
skull keystone, and hour-glasses in the imposts. Winged-headed angels to spandrels.
Part of an interesting group of similarly decorated grave slabs in various other
local graveyards including, in particular, the graveyard of the Church of St Mary-
in-the-Wood, Morley (q.v.).
