Former vicarage. Circa early C19. Stucco with plinth, mid floor string, eaves
cornice and rusticated quoin strips. Hipped scantle slate roof with projecting
eaves and 4 brick chimneys over side walls.
Plan: Overall L shape plan; main double depth 2 rooms wide range and with service
wing at right angles to rear right. At the front are two equal reception rooms
overlooking the garden. The entrance is at the left hand side wall to passage
behind left hand room leading to central rear stair hall.
Two storeys. Symmetrical 3-window south front with original 16-pane hornless
sashes to 1st floor. Circa early C20 French windows to ground floor openings with
lowered sills. Between these windows is an original semi-circular on plan half-dome
headed stucco niche.
The entrance doorway, slightly left of middle in the west wall has original 6
panelled door and overlight with looped glazing bars.
Interior partly inspected but appears to be fairly complete with plaster ceiling
cornices and bands to the reception rooms and open-well open-string stick baluster
stair with mahogany handrail.
This type of garden front plan was very fashionable in the early C19 and was often
used for vicarages.
