16/10002 Boundary walls to field
adjoining west of the
Prebendal Manor House

Rabbit warren (or coneygree) enclosure walls. Probably medieval
coursed limestone rubble with clay mortar and cement capping.
About 1.5 metres to 2 metres tall and from about 60cm to 90cm thick.
The enclosure is approximately rectilinear on plan, the indented north
east corner has been partly rebuilt and the south end of the east side
incorporates the west wall of a barn (barn approximately 30m south
west of number 57 Prebendal Manor House (qv)). There is a gateway on
the north side to Woodnewton Road. It encloses an area of about 0.8
hectares.
