SP20NE Peartree Cottage and
4/282 Bakery Cottage

House, now subdivided. Probably early C18, altered C19 and C20.
Limestone rubble with wooden lintels; stone-slate roofs with rubble-and-
brick gable stack. 3-unit plan with subsidiary rear wing. 2 storeys. 2
bays to right of 4-window front flank main entrance which has a plank door
under a stone-slated canopy; right bay has 3-light casements, left bay 2-
light casements, all with stop-chamfered lintels. Added upper courses of
wall incorporate date stone inscribed "Jw/1851". Right gable wall returns
around chimney projection carrying stack with moulded plinth. Altered
bays to left of front, with lower roof, have two C20 casements above
garage door and secondary entrance. Long added rear wing of at least 2
builds (part of Bakery Cottage) has C20 casements but retains some
chamfered lintels. Interior included fielded panelled shutters to one
front window.
