Public house. In existence by 1735 but refurbished in early C19
with some C20 alterations. Front range has pebble-dashed ground
floor and 1st floor rendered with C20 pargeted panels. Hipped
tiled roof with 3 brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys; 4 windows.
Modillion eaves cornice. 4 early C19 20-pane sashes with
cambered heads to 1st floor. Ground floor has 1 sash but mainly
C20 metal framed windows and C20 bar extension. Rear elevation
is of painted brick with 2 12-pane sashes. L wing has gable end
with 12-pane sash. Interior of bar has C18 wooden fireplace with
dentilled top. 2 corner china cabinets with serpentine shelves,
1 of them with elaborate carved diamond shaped motifs in the side
pilasters and mutule frieze.
