GV II

Town hall. 1906-18. Leonard Stokes, architect. Red brick and stone. Granite plinth.
Slate roof. Two storeys, 15 windows wide. 3 bays to each end, pedimented, with stone
facing. Roman Ionic columns in antis. Entrances. Between, red brick with stone
architraves, aprons and cornices. Ground floor segmental heads to windows.
Square-headed above. Central bellcote with split pediment and large elaborate dado
projecting beneath. Groups with Old Vestry Hall at rear in Chelsea Manor Gardens (qv)
