Circa 1850. Part of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's restoration of the
Barton Manor Estate. Neo-Jacobean. Two storeys stone rubble with iregular
stone quoins. Steeply pitched tiled roof with gable end. Finialed saddlestones
to gables, kneelers. Tall heavy capped red brick chimney stacks. The north
front has off centre slightly projecting gabled bay. Four windows. Two, 3
and 4-light stone mullioned casements. External chimneystack at west end of
this front. The west side has double gable end. Projecting stone gabled porch
with side lights, 3 centred chamfered arch. Entrance also on east side with
3 window wing. Picturesque.
